Resume safely
Open Migration History and read the recorded error. After correcting the underlying definition or metadata conflict, Resume rechecks exact destination pairs, adopts only matching copies, and returns the operation to snapshotting, copying, verification, or cutover verification as appropriate.
Safely abandon before cutover
When the original definition is still active, typing ABANDON removes only this job's unchanged, recorded destination pairs in bounded batches. Mismatches are skipped and counted instead of deleted. The original definition stays active and is unlocked when abandonment completes.
Write protection and direct SQL
During recoverable work, ACF displays the field as read-only and WordPress/ACF metadata hooks block writes for protected objects and names. Other content stays editable. Direct database writers bypass these hooks, so pause imports and external SQL writers until completion.
What to send support
Include the plugin version, WordPress/PHP/ACF versions, migration ID, operation and status, source and destination names, the exact on-screen error, definition source, and steps already taken. Do not send post content, database dumps, raw snapshots, or credentials unless support specifically establishes a secure need.
